PaddleTogether
Paddle4Good's PaddleTogether program bring the special needs, volunteer, & paddling communities together for a free, safe, amazing, half-day on the water!

With safety & inclusion as our primary goals - participants have the opportunity to safely stand up paddle (SUP), kayak, pedal boat, & more with a friendly set of community volunteers & skilled crew of paddlers.

Our 2019 events at Shoreline Lake in Mt. View, CA were awesome:

We can't host our events for participants with special needs without an amazing team of community volunteers! Sign up now -- & please spread the word on social media!

Participants
Our events are for those with special needs aged 4-24. Volunteers
It's not necessary to have experience volunteering or water skills to make a difference. There'll be several orientations before the event to cover safety, working with those with special needs, & more. At one point, we'll split into 3 main groups:

  • Buddies - each child is paired with one or more volunteer buddies for the duration of the event. Buddies need only a great attitude & the desire to help others.

  • Water teams - Those with water skills may help out in a number of ways. We'll have stations for activities such as SUP, kayak, and pedal boats. There'll be one or more safety leaders for each group who'll help assess skills and assign specific roles. More skilled paddlers will paddle with the participants, others may help load / unload.

  • Support team - We'll need help with lawn games, registering participants, handing out waters, snacks, helping serve lunch, assembling goodie bags & medals for our participants, & much more. There's always something to do!

If you'd like to serve those in your community who might not get a chance to normally have a day like this - please join us as a volunteer --  we can't host days like this without you.

Volunteers should plan to arrive by 8am sharp - the event will be done by approx 1:30pm.
